HOW TO: make a great margarita
You want a liquor drink that tastes sweet in the winter and refreshing in the summer. Whiskey gives you hangovers and vodka doesn't have enough taste. Your grandma loves gin and tonics but they get bland after awhile and your grandpa loves scotch but that's too much of a commitment.
Enter: the margarita.
Required supplies:
- Tequila
- Don't cheap on your tequila. I suggest El Jimador
- Silver or gold is your decision. Choose Silver
- Triple Sec
- Brand doesn't matter, bottles are cheap
- Republic lime juice
- Found in HEB and local Texas liquor stores
- Replace with quality lime juice if you're not able to find it. Stray away from over-produced "margarita mixes"
- Ice cubes
- Cup
Serving instructions:
- Pour 2-3 ice cubes in a whiskey glass or red solo cup
- 3 cubes for a nice drink, 2 cubes to get crazy
- Pour 1 part tequila
- Pour 1 part triple sec
- Pour 1 part lime juice
- Enjoy
Experiment with your part ratios and learn your own taste. Bring these to pool parties and show your friends how creative you are.
